• Skills & Expertise:

Cash Handling

• Record and reconcile all money deposited in the drop box by cashiers.
• Witnessing (by signature) of all drop safe(s), opening of safe and counting of floats – reconciling to drop sheet per Hotel policy.
• Count and verify money in cashier envelopes.
• Prepare bank deposit slips for daily banking.
• Count own house bank daily and properly account for all disbursements made therefrom.
• Organize foreign exchange to be sent daily basis.
• Prepare General Cashier’s daily report.
• Ensure Front Office shift leaders have sufficient change for the weekend float and for operations throughout the week.
• Reimburse cashiers for disbursements made by the (due backs).
• Account for petty cash reimbursements and ensure appropriate receipts and approval of Financial Controller.
• Handle all foreign exchange receipts for banking.
• Monitor foreign exchange rates weekly to ensure that the Hotel’s rates are appropriate.
